My Story

I have spent most of my life observing people and translating what I see in the world and the people around me into art and meaningful stories. Taking years of art classes, whether that be in school or just for fun has given me visual design skills in both physical and digital forms, and a greater understanding of how people interact and experience design.

As a screenwriting student and comedy web series creator I found myself working through a design process that mirrors UX Design. Understand and research your character; know their wants, needs, and frustrations. Then lead them through an experience to get to their final resolution. Then when you have a first draft, go back and rework it again. I didn't realize it at the time but I was already using the design processes that are crucial to UX design.

After spending time as a social media manager, film development intern, and documentary production intern I decided to make the transition to UX. I wanted to pursue a career that combined all my interests in design, storytelling, and empathy. I enjoyed writing and telling stories, but I was still searching for a way to help people in their everyday lives. I found General Assembly and took the plunge into the world of UX design.
